The aims of the course are to established business professionals to:
- Strategically review organizational to identify new, evidence based, value-creating, business transformation opportunities.
- Create new forms of actionable knowledge through collaborative research.
- Introduce new ideas, solve contemporary business problems in an innovative and transformational way via an action-research approach to organizational change.
- Make an original contribution to business practices by creating solutions and introducing changes in the workplace, drawing on theory from different academic disciplines to synthesize diverse ideas.

Module Description
Business Transformation
This module examines the drivers of Business Transformation and helps students develop key knowledge and skills related to business transformation and identification of key areas of improvement to develop future facing, sustainable, and robust organisations. The module identifies suitable knowledge bases for different sectors of business and helps develop a ‘toolkit’ knowledge base for academics and business leaders covering the main competitive priorities of business transformation.
Research for Professional Doctoral Students
Research methods module draws upon a range of traditions within the social sciences, and business research that reflects considerable methodological diversity. This module will enable students to develop an action-research proposal that details how a business transformation initiative will be implemented within an action-research framework.
Action Research Advanced Independent Study
The module provides the opportunity for management-related professionals to consolidate their learning experiences through a self-initiated research project that significantly contributes to the development of new knowledge within the context of business studies.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Age Requirements
25 years old
Academic
A business or management related qualification comprising at least 120 credits at level 7 (such as from a master’s degree) which includes Amity Postgraduate Diploma holder in the following field of study:
- Postgraduate Diploma in Management
- Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration
- a minimum of three years’ work experience
- written permission from an organisation or organisations to undertake a business transformation initiative
- You are interviewed to ensure you have recent and relevant study and practice in business and/or management. The interview also confirms that you have identified a viable business transformation research project that can be carried out in a host organisation.
Mature Candidate
Candidates who are at least 30 years of age with at least 8 years of working experience. To qualify as a mature candidate, you are required to submit a Personal Statement of not more than 200 words and 2 Referee Reports from at least one employer. Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview.
