Diploma in International Logistics and Supply Chain Management

The Diploma in International Logistics and Supply Chain Management equips students with the essential knowledge, skills, and analytical tools to manage logistics and supply chain operations in a globalized business environment. Delivered through lectures, seminars, workshops, business games, simulations, and directed independent study, the programme blends theoretical frameworks with applied practice. Core modules cover business environments, information management, accounting and finance, people management, and research projects, while elective options allow students to specialize in operations management, total quality management, or marketing management. This holistic approach prepares graduates to optimize supply chain efficiency, enhance competitiveness, and adapt to evolving industry challenges.

Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the programme will be able to:

  • Analyse business environments – Apply PESTLE and Five Forces frameworks to evaluate macro forces shaping organisations in a VUCA world.
  • Develop digital literacy – Source, access, and analyse information across networks while maintaining academic integrity.
  • Apply people management skills – Demonstrate practical knowledge in managing individuals and teams across diverse organisational settings.
  • Interpret financial information – Understand and communicate key financial objectives and management accounting skills to support decision
  • Conduct research projects – Design and critically analyse research topics, develop questions, and apply statistical techniques to logistics and supply chain issues.
  • Implement organisational management principles – Apply theories and practices of organisational behaviour and management to realworld scenarios.

 

Specialize through electives – Deepen expertise in one of three areas:

  • Operations Management – Focus on optimizing processes and resource utilization.
  • Total Quality Management – Emphasize continuous improvement, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Marketing Management – Develop applied skills in marketing planning, consumer behaviour, and brand positioning within logistics and supply chain contexts.

 

The programme is delivered via lectures, seminars, workshops, business games and simulations and directed independent study. The latter will normally make specific use of an individually accessed Key Text for that module as well as lecturer designed course materials (including module guide and web related materials). The use will also be made of a range of accessible (e.g. library held) supplementary texts, articles, reports and other designated sources, including business games, simulations and websites.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Age Requirements

  • 17 years old

Academic Requirements

Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ level Examination in the English medium and must have obtained all of the following:

  • – At least two passes in subjects at H2 level with One H1 Level pass and attempted General Paper (GP) or Knowledge & Inquiry (KI)
  • OR

  • – Formal International Year 12 Education
  • OR

  • – International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma awarded by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO)
  • OR

  • – Polytechnic Diploma Holder in any field of study from a local polytechnic in Singapore
  • OR

  • – BTEC level 4 HNC in any field of study
  • OR

  • – An approved Diploma or Advanced Diploma from private education institutions of Singapore which has the minimum entry requirements as follows,
    • GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent;
    • OR

    • Nitec, Higher Nitec or equivalent.

English Requirement

Student must complete and obtained a Pass in English in high school.

If English is not the medium of studies or learning in the high school or taken as a 2nd language, then the following requirements applies:

  • – IELTS 5.5;
  • OR

  • – TOFEL 550 (paper-base) + 4 in TWE or 79 (iBT);
  • OR

  • – SAT1 score 550 (Critical reading & writing);
  • OR

  • – PTE Academic score 42/100;
  • OR

  • – An equivalent English language qualification

Mature Applicants

  • Candidates who are at least 30 years of age with at least 8 years of working experience (after graduation from Junior College) as at 1st July of the admission year may apply for admission as Mature Applicants.
  • To qualify as a mature applicant, you are required to submit a Personal Statement of not more than 200 words and 2 Referee Reports from at least one employer. Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview.

Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL)

  • Polytechnic Diploma Holder in the relevant field of study from a local polytechnic in Singapore
  • An approved Diploma or Advanced Diploma from private education institutions of Singapore with prior entry requirements as GCE ‘A’ level Examination or Equivalent (when admitted to qualifying Diploma)
  • Maximum credits for APL approval will not greater than 50%
