Understanding Financial Statement
This workshop aims to summarise the process of making informed decisions in three key areas: investment, financing and operations. Banking professionals responsible for evaluating management success in these areas can turn to this curriculum for a set of crucial financial statement analysis techniques, culminating in business valuation principles. Topics covered include:
- Introduction: Purpose of financial statement, key aspects of financial statement
- Information identification: Three key financial statements
- Calculation: Calculation of profitability and rate of return of assets, calculate the ratios in long and short-term risk analysis
- Debt and profit: Determine debt and profit risk using ratio analysis
- Adjust for differences: Adjust for differences in reporting to put companies on a comparable basis
In this workshop, participants will learn:
- Understand the need for financial analysis
- Interpret financial data
- Perform financial analysis
- Report financial analysis and report to stakeholders
